Heavy Machining

Vertical turning up to 32’ in diameter and 100 tons in weight

The Heavy Machining Division offers a wide range of machines and machining skills to handle the most demanding requirements. From nuclear shield valves to steel housings, Ebco’s Heavy Machining Division has the capabilities to produce precision-made, high-quality products.

Vertical turning capacity is available for items up to 32’ in diameter and 100 tons in weight. We also have horizontal floor mills capable of machining individual components as large as 14’ high by 36’ long in one set-up.

At the smaller end of the scale, several 3, 4 & 5-axis CNC machines handle machining requirements on complex and repetitive components to a maximum part size of 9’ wide by 10’ long. Rounding out our machining capabilities, conventional milling, turning and drilling requirements are handled by more than 15 separate machine work centers.

Heavy material can be moved via a centralized rail spur running through the plant.

Quality assurance

Our Quality Assurance system is vigorously applied to ensure accuracy and consistency of the finished products. Granite surface tables accurate to 0.0002” are used for inspection, together with optical tooling equipment and certified inspection tools and gauges that are housed in a humidity and temperature controlled inspection area.
