Heavy Steel Brake Press Roll Operator
Job Summary:
Responsibilities include set up and operation of different types of heavy metal fabrication shop machines, including plate shears and rolls as well as hydraulic brake presses. Rolling and forming experience is essential.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Duties include layout work and the forming of thicknesses and types of metal plate with all shapes and sizes in accordance with customer specifications.
- Forming and rolling heavy steel and alloy material 1”thick and thicker
- Able to work independently from blue prints
- Ability to operate overhead cranes
- Forklift certification an asset
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Heavy Plate Brake Press Operator must have a minimum of 5 years experience. Must be able to read blueprints and work to blueprint specifications and be knowledgeable in the working qualities of metal. Must also be familiar with Bills of Material.
Knowledgeable in set up and operation of different types of metal fabrication shop machines, including plate shears and rolls as well as hydraulic brake presses and the working qualities of metal.
Credentials and Experience:
Minimum 5 years experience in a heavy metal fabrication shop environment.
Special Requirements:
- Must have a strong work ethic and must be able and willing to work a variety of shifts
- Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English with a good understanding
- Must have safety shoes
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- This can be a very demanding and fast paced department with deadlines to meet
